About the Opportunity Our client is a growing home furnishings manufacturing company operating across Canada. They're building out their People & Culture function and looking for a strategic business partner to lead HR initiatives across the organization.
You’ll be the HR advisor to the corporate leadership team, owning everything from talent acquisition and recruitment strategy to organizational development, employee relations, and performance management. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive meaningful change across the organization, from building talent acquisition processes from the ground up to supporting major organizational shifts and ensuring the company's compensation and benefits programs align with their growth goals.
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you’ll have direct influence on how the organization scales and develops. This is a greenfield opportunity to shape HR practices, implement modern systems, and build a strong people operations foundation.
Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end recruitment and selection for all corporate roles, including sourcing strategy, candidate screening, and hiring decisions
Act as a trusted advisor to corporate leadership on HR strategy and business-critical people matters
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with corporate objectives, including talent management, organizational development, and retention initiatives
Lead performance management processes - goal setting, reviews, feedback, and continuous improvement
Build and manage corporate-wide HR programs:



compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion, wellness, and training initiatives
Partner with learning and development teams to create career growth and skill development opportunities
Provide guidance on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and sensitive situations
Analyze workforce trends and propose solutions to address organizational challenges such as turnover, engagement, and development needs
Drive employee engagement and retention efforts, including surveys and feedback analysis
Ensure HR compliance with labor laws, workplace safety standards, and anti-discrimination policies
Partner with leadership on organizational changes - mergers, restructurings, transformations - and provide coaching and support during transitions
Use HR analytics and data to assess organizational effectiveness and provide actionable insights to leadership
Monitor key HR metrics (turnover, engagement scores, etc.) and recommend continuous improvements
What You Bring Minimum 8 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a business partner capacity
4+ years of proven talent acquisition and recruitment experience, preferably in a corporate environment
Demonstrated expertise in organizational development,



employee relations, and talent management
Solid knowledge of recruitment best practices, candidate sourcing strategies, and selection processes
Proven ability to develop, recommend, and implement improvements to HR procedures and policies
Experience designing and delivering training and development programs
Current knowledge of HR theory, trends, practices, and employment and safety legislation
Hands‑on experience with HRIS systems, ATS platforms, and HR software tools
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a results‑oriented approach
Proven facilitation and conflict management/resolution abilities
Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Ceridian Dayforce, Learning Management Systems, and Reward & Recognitions applications
Nice to Have Background in retail or manufacturing environments
Experience managing organizational change or M&A; integration
Familiarity with compensation and benefits benchmarking
