Covenant House Vancouver invites a compassionate Youth Worker to join its Foundations Program. This role focuses on providing a secure, non-judgmental environment for youth at risk of homelessness. You will utilize a trauma-informed approach to engage youth, addressing their needs and guiding them towards recovery while respecting their dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome youth and assess immediate needs
• Develop professional relationships with youth aged 16-24
• Orient new youth and complete intake processes
• Center practices in Harm Reduction and Trauma-Informed Care
• Support youth with addictions and mental health
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in social services
• Minimum one year in a low barrier, harm reduction setting
• Experience with youth facing homelessness issues
• First Aid & Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is an asset
• Evidence of immunization compliance required
