Target rate range: $80-92hr B2B

Hybrid: 2 days per week in office. Wednesday and Thursday, plus 1st Friday of each month

What does the LOB do?
Risk Management is led by the SEVP and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and is accountable on matters relating to the independent oversight of the management of risks inherent to the activities of CIBC, its subsidiaries and affiliates. These risks include but are not limited to ensuring that effective processes are in place for the identification, management, measurement, monitoring and control of operational, reputation and legal, market, credit, strategic, investment and liquidity risk, collectively "CIBC Risk", incurred by CIBC's retail and wholesale businesses, infrastructure and corporate governance groups.

Background
CIBC established Program Tempo in FY25 to enhance the regulatory governance setting by assessing all regulatory requirements and ensuring they are linked with controls. Where gaps were identified, new controls were created for complying with the requirements. Beginning in FY26, CIBC is now focused on evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of these newly created or identified regulatory controls. CIBC hired an external audit firm (PwC) to perform control testing, while CIBC is responsible for quality assurance (QA) and coordination between business partners and PwC.

Who Will the Candidate Be Working with on a Daily Basis?
The candidate will work closely with the Director overseeing the project - who will be the hiring manager. This leader plays a key role in driving the bank's control enhancement initiatives and will provide direct guidance and support throughout the assignment.
Team Structure/Size of Internal Team
Team of ~15 others with varied responsibilities.
Successful CW will be responsible for QA work of external partner.
CW will be collaborating closely with internal business partners.

Job Description
Summary
The main function of a Risk Analyst is to analyze and manage risk management issues by identifying, measuring, and making decisions on operational or enterprise risks for an organization. A typical Risk Analyst utilizes knowledge of tax and insurance strategies, securities, insurance, pension plans, and real estate.
Job Responsibilities
Act as a Control Advisor supporting various Risk Lines of Business (LOBs) in identifying, documenting, and enhancing controls related to regulatory compliance risks. Conduct control testing and internal audits to assess the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk Management, Audit, and Compliance to ensure alignment of control activities with enterprise risk objectives.
Analyze operational, legal, market,
credit, strategic, and liquidity risks to support informed decision-making.
Develop and maintain documentation of control processes, risk assessments, and audit findings.
Provide recommendations for control enhancements and process improvements based on audit results and risk analysis.
Support the implementation of control frameworks and contribute to the development of risk policies and procedures.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on existing controls and risk management practices.

Coordinate with PwC and Risk Management business partners throughout the control testing process.
Collect and organize control documentation and respond to requests for information (RFIs).
Attend walkthrough meetings and facilitate timely responses to RFIs or follow-up
