Job Description Stantec is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Technician to join our team in the Markham, ON office.
Your Key Responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to work with engineers and other technicians performing general duties consisting of both field and laboratory work including the following:
Working on a variety of small to large projects spanning from transportation, power, mining, residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
Geotechnical field testing that may require concrete testing, field compaction testing, and geotechnical laboratory testing.
Complete geotechnical and materials testing field inspections including, but not limited to, footing inspections, slope inspections, reinforcing steel inspections, subgrade inspections, slope analysis, and soil classifications.
Promoting a strong health and safety culture and actively participating in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment Program.
Other general field and office-related duties.
Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following qualifications:
Energetic team player with a commitment to superior client service.
Experience working with minimum supervision.
Demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.




A valid Driver's License is required.
Completion of a two- or three-year college program in civil engineering technology would be an asset.
Ability and willingness to work away from home.
Willingness to work overtime as required.
Education and Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 7 years of experience.
Position will require fieldwork up to 75%

About the Team Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
