Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid/Flexible) | Part-Time (3 Days/Week) | Potential Path to Full-Time
OTUS Group is seeking an experienced CPA-designated Controller to join our growing team in a flexible, fractional capacity. This role is ideal for a senior accounting professional who enjoys working across multiple organizations, solving complex financial challenges, and partnering directly with executive teams.
Initially structured as a part-time engagement of approximately three days per week , this position has the potential to evolve into a full-time role as our client portfolio continues to grow.
What You'll Do Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of clients
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reporting packages
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
Coordinate with external auditors and support audit readiness activities
Review accounting processes and recommend operational improvements
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Provide coaching and support to bookkeeping and finance staff




Collaborate with OTUS Partners and Fractional CFOs on client engagements
What We're Looking For CPA designation required
Progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including Controller-level responsibilities
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
Ability to work independently in a flexible, consulting-oriented environment
Experience with nonprofit, association, or registered charities
Experience within an accounting firm
