In this vital role, you will engage with children and their families to facilitate coping strategies, preparing them for medical procedures and alleviating stress. With your knowledge of child development and pain management techniques, you will assess and tailor interventions that enhance emotional and physical well-being across emergency and inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement developmental and normalization activities
• Assess individual and group play and therapeutic interventions
• Prepare children for medical procedures through play and discussion
• Facilitate special events and diversion experiences
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team for holistic patient service
Requirements:
• Degree in Child Life, Education, Psychology, or related field
• ACLP Child Life certification required
• 1-3 years of pediatric healthcare experience
• Skills in non-pharmacological pain management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
