As an Area Manager - Mine Infrastructure based in Vancouver, you will act as the owner's representative for a large-scale mining infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between engineering, procurement, HSE, construction and operation readiness.
Our client is a mining company with headquarters in Vancouver. With a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and sustainable project delivery, the company has major mining activities in the South-American region.
Description
Act as the owner-side leader for a designated mining infrastructure area, providing oversight throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
Ensure technical solutions are practical, constructible, maintainable, and aligned with long-term operational objectives.
Coordinate activities across engineering, project controls, procurement, construction, operations, and commissioning teams to support integrated project execution.
Monitor contractor and EPCM performance, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, project procedures, quality standards, and execution plans.
Drive construction readiness activities, including sequencing, material availability, contractor mobilization, permitting dependencies, and field execution planning.
Identify project risks, schedule impacts, and interface issues while facilitating timely decision-making and issue resolution.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure HSE, quality,
and operational integrity requirements are embedded throughout all phases of project delivery.
Profile
A successful Area Manager - Mine Infrastructure should have:
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
Typically 18-25+ years of experience delivering large-scale mining, industrial, energy, or heavy infrastructure projects.
Solid experience within owner, EPCM, EPC, or major contractor organizations.
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and complex stakeholder relationships.
Demonstrated experience overseeing projects from detailed engineering through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
Strong leadership, commercial awareness, risk management capabilities, and decision-making skills in complex project environments.
Job Offer
Competitive salary ranging between $190,000 and $210,000 CAD.
Annual bonus.
