The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Assistant Director of Care provides clinical leadership and operational support within our long‑term care community. As a key member of the leadership team, you will help foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and person‑centered care while supporting nursing, care aide, and recreation teams. You will play a vital role in quality improvement, staff development, clinical oversight, and resident outcomes while ensuring care delivery aligns with best practices, licensing requirements, and organizational values. This role is ideal for an experienced clinical leader who is ready for more than a job. What You'll Do

Provide leadership and support to interdisciplinary care teams, including RNs, LPNs, Health Care Aides, and Therapy staff (Recreation, Music, PT, & OT)

Support staff development and performance management

Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives that enhance resident outcomes and team effectiveness

Support clinical excellence through coaching, mentoring, education, and evidence‑informed practice





Monitor key quality indicators and use data to drive improvements in care delivery

Ensure compliance with licensing standards, qualified practice requirements, and organizational policies

Promote person‑centered care that respects resident choice, dignity, and independence

Collaborate with Fraser Health, physicians, pharmacists, specialists, families, and community partners

Support the effective use of PointClickCare, interRAI LTCF, and other clinical systems

Assist with workforce planning, health and safety initiatives, and operational oversight

Provide leadership coverage in the absence of the Director of Care

What You Bring

Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with BCCNM

Minimum five years of gerontology experience or experience in elder care, including progressive leadership responsibilities

Strong knowledge of dementia care, responsive behaviours, and best practices in long‑term care

Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing clinical staffStrong understanding of quality improvement and resident‑focused care

Experience using PointClickCare and other clinical information systems

Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and leadership skills

A positive, collaborative approach and a genuine passion for supporting seniors

Schedule
Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as operationally required to connect with the full team.

$105,000–$125,000/annually
