Headquartered in Toronto, with regional offices globally, including in the United States, Mexico and India, we are the largest Canadian-based pharmaceutical company and a health partner of choice for the Americas for pharmaceutical licensing and product acquisitions.Job SummaryPerform tote inspection and assembly tasks according to GMP procedures.Maintain the operation of the tote washer in valuable working condition.Disassemble dirty totes and load totes and other racks on the inbound conveyor as required.Perform cleaning tasks related to material handling equipment/systems (tote washer, tote conveyors, tote inspection stand, yield check system, etc.).Provide tote handling services to the 150 Signet manufacturing facility.Perform shift‑start inspections and assist in the maintenance of material handling systems.Contribute individually and as a team member to achieve the Apotex 2010 Strategic Plan.Work in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (Ontario), Apotex Health and Safety policies, Safe Work Procedures, Safety Charter and departmental safety expectations and programs.Operate material handling systems and equipment including yield check system, conveyors (tote, pallet), material lifts, racking, dock doors and material handling devices.Job ResponsibilitiesEnsure systems, equipment, processes and areas are clean, operating within service level agreement and according to ‘just‑in‑time’ design to improve performance and achieve Apotex 2010 goals.Maintain the Yield Check System, tote, bottle tote and pallet movement processes and systems.Keep totes used to contain WIP clean and manage dirty totes received from packaging.Perform manual transfer of material (supply and returns of caps, labels, etc.)
from and to the tote assembly area (2nd Floor).Transfer material (supply, returns and finished goods) from and to material handling areas and into the GMP area in 150 Signet.Complete pre‑shift inspections of automated material handling systems and equipment.Perform daily calibration checks of all scales in the coating area.Ensure the inventory system accurately reflects locations of WIP inventory and in‑process containers.Act as liaison between Logistics and Packaging or Production operators for automated material handling system issues.Work with maintenance technicians on the automated tote washing/handling system and assist with routine preventive maintenance on non‑critical equipment.Ensure all work conforms to Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and established safety standards.Conduct workplace inspections and verifications (vehicles, conveyors, scales, lifts) and document inspections on appropriate check‑sheets or work orders.Adhere to policies within the Therapeutic Product Program (TPP) and FDA regulations.Troubleshoot and clear minor tote washer faults as required.Collaborate with compounding logistic and warehouse technicians to ensure a consistent supply of clean totes to tableting and coating departments.Perform additional duties as required.Job RequirementsGrade 12 diploma or equivalent.Fluent in written and oral English communication.Basic computer literacy.Qualified to operate a reach truck and walkie‑talkie.Willing and able to work shift work and/or overtime when needed.Able to lift 50 lbs.Knowledge of SAP and assets (especially WM/MM, PM and QM notifications).Familiarity with conveyor systems (asset).Salary and BenefitsThe hiring range for this position is $34,515–$51,773 CAD per year.
