Become a crucial part of Parks Recreation and Environmental Services as a Solid Waste Operations Attendant. This auxiliary role focuses on managing transfer station operations while providing top-notch customer assistance.
This position involves overseeing the transfer depot, including daily maintenance, traffic control, and customer interaction. You will also be responsible for sorting, storing, and managing recyclable materials according to established best practices and regulations. Working variable hours, including weekends, ensures flexibility in your schedule while making a positive environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate the transfer station including opening and closing
• Direct traffic safely and maintain clean, accessible roadways
• Maintain secure access to the facility during business hours
• Assist customers with recycling information and materials
• Sort, label, and store various waste materials as needed
Requirements:
• High School Graduation or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience
• WHMIS Certification required
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification
• Basic First Aid (OFA 1) certification
