This temporary role, part of the Local Journalism Initiative, will directly support the Chinese communities in Markham and York Region. The successful candidate will provide both traditional and innovative news coverage. You'll work under urgency to translate valuable stories into relatable narratives that connect with readers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Generate stories on municipal government and community events
• Build relationships with local sources for unique insights
• Produce reliable journalism through data analysis
• Translate English content to traditional Chinese
• Collaborate with the Managing Editor for diverse coverage
Requirements:
• Relevant journalism experience in digital media
• Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English
• Robust analytical and storytelling capabilities
