Make a difference as a Community Support Worker with Makivvik in Montréal, assisting urban Inuit and improving community life. This role focuses on support at the airport, shelters, and urban safety tips.
Reporting to the Director-Reaching Home and Urban Inuit Division, you will be crucial in assisting arrivals from the North and helping community members navigate city services. Key responsibilities include airport support and facilitating access to emergency shelters for the Inuit community, alongside collaboration with local organizations and authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist members arriving at the airport and missing rides
• Provide support for homeless individuals accessing services
• Collaborate with Ullivik for departure arrangements
• Offer safety tips and community resources
• Build relationships with Inuit and resource organizations
Requirements:
• Experience in social intervention is an asset
• Proficient in Inuktitut and English, French is a plus
• Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Suite
• Robust interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work outside standard office hours
