Job Title: Quality Control (Recycling Operations)

Job Overview
Quality Control personnel are responsible for monitoring the quality of bales and recyclable materials to ensure contamination is identified and removed in accordance with company quality standards. This role involves inspecting, sorting, weighing, and documenting materials while maintaining clean and protected work areas through housekeeping duties such as sweeping, shoveling, and general cleaning to support efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Report to work before or on time for all scheduled shifts
Follow all SOPs for safe operation and quality control procedures
Inspect materials and sort items according to type, size, color, and quality standards
Identify and remove contamination from recyclable materials and production streams
Sort materials into designated commodity streams to ensure proper segregation
Inspect bales and raw materials for quality and contamination issues
Immediately report quality concerns, equipment malfunctions, or damages to the Lead Hand or Supervisor
Weigh, check, and record materials accurately using scales and audit documentation
Complete quality control forms and maintain accurate production and inspection records
Place materials into designated bins, containers, or storage areas as per procedures
Assist in transporting raw materials, finished products, and equipment within the facility
Support machine operators and production staff as required to maintain workflow
Sort, pack, crate, and package materials when needed
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, sorting areas, and surrounding equipment
Perform sweeping, wiping, and shoveling to ensure safe and organized work areas
Clean equipment and work areas regularly to maintain operational standards
Follow all Health and Safety policies and maintain a strong safety-first mindset
Perform general labour duties in support of production and quality control operations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required
Basic numeracy skills for weighing and recording data accurately
Team player with good communication skillsWillingness to work shifts, including weekends if required
Previous experience in recycling, manufacturing, or quality control is an asset (not required)
