Cayoosh Elementary is looking for a passionate Intermediate Teacher to foster learning for Grades 4-7 students, with a special focus on Indigenous culture. This 1.0 FTE continuing position requires strong assessment and teaching skills.
In the heart of the unceded territory of the St'at'imc First Peoples, Cayoosh Elementary serves approximately 170 students, with a significant Indigenous representation. The role demands knowledge of the BC curriculum, experience with diverse learning strategies, and a commitment to integrating local Indigenous traditions into the classroom. Collaboration and technology integration are key components of this teaching position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging lessons based on BC curriculum
• Integrate local Indigenous culture into lessons
• Use assessment as and for learning practices
• Develop a positive learning workplace
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and the community
Requirements:
• Qualifications in teaching the specified grade level
• Familiarity with Indigenous culture and teaching strategies
