Mechanically inclined and comfortable learning how equipment works
Detail oriented and takes pride in keeping their work area clean, organized, and properly maintained
Patient and methodical, especially when working through a process
Curious and interested in learning the craft of coffee roasting
Quality driven and committed to producing consistent work
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Comfortable working in a production and manufacturing environment
A clear communicator and positive team member
Interested in growing their skills and taking on additional responsibility over time
Physical & Working Environment
This is a physical, hands-on production position. Candidates must:
Be able to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs
Be comfortable working around commercial machinery and moving equipment
Be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a shift
Be comfortable working in a loud production setting
Wear company-provided hearing protection whenever equipment is running
Follow all required workplace and equipment safety procedures

List of Duties
Key Responsibilities
Operate commercial coffee roasting equipment safely and efficiently
Follow established roasting profiles and production procedures
Monitor roasting batches carefully and make adjustments when required
Weigh, sort, label, and properly store coffee throughout the production process
Perform quality checks and identify inconsistencies or potential issues
Keep accurate production and roasting records
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production space
Clean and maintain roasting equipment and surrounding work areas
Assist with other production, packaging, inventory, and warehouse tasks as needed
Follow food safety, workplace safety, and quality-control proceduresLearn and develop an understanding of coffee roasting, green coffee, and production processes
About 32 Lakes Coffee Roasters
32 Lakes Coffee Roasters is a growing local coffee manufacturing company based on the upper Sunshine Coast. We roast specialty coffee for customers across Canada.
We are looking for a Coffee Roaster to join our production team. This is a hands-on role that combines machinery, production, quality control, organization, and attention to detail. The right person will be curious about the roasting process, take pride in producing consistently excellent coffee, and enjoy learning how things work.
This is an opportunity to learn a skilled manufacturing trade and grow with a local company as our production and sales continue to expand.
The Role
The Coffee Roaster will be responsible for operating our commercial roasting equipment and helping ensure that every batch meets our quality standards. You will work closely with our production processes, equipment, and inventory while developing a strong understanding of coffee roasting.
Previous coffee roasting experience is an asset, but it is not required. We are interested in finding someone who is mechanically inclined, curious, patient, and committed to quality.
Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
$23/hour during the training period
$24/hour after successfully completing a 3-month probationary period
