Become a Wastewater Treatment Operator Trainee with the City of Windsor and make a difference in environmental management. This position merges training with practical experience in wastewater treatment facilities.

As a dedicated Operator in Training (OIT), you will work closely with licensed staff to learn the intricacies of managing the LRWRP and LRPCP plants. This full time position includes performing maintenance duties, recording data, and ensuring plant operations comply with safety standards. You will also be expected to progress through certification levels as required.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the day-to-day operation of wastewater treatment facilities
• Perform equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance
• Regularly inspect and adjust plant equipment as needed




• Log plant operations data accurately
• Report and handle public inquiries related to operations

Requirements:
• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma and post-secondary education
• Pass aptitude and operator exams for career progression
• Must hold a valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s License
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations is essential
• Maintain physical ability to fulfill job demands
