Job Description
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care and building meaningful relationships with older adults? As a Registered Practical Nurse at Chartwell, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our residents. Your clinical expertise, empathy, and commitment to a positive resident experience will help create a safe, welcoming environment where residents feel supported, valued, and cared for every day.
What You’ll Do
Provide professional nursing care in accordance with the provincial College of Nurses standards, legislative requirements, and Chartwell policies
Monitor residents’ health status, administer medications and treatments, and accurately document care
Support residents during their transition into the residence, ensuring they and their families feel comfortable and informed
Respond to resident or family concerns promptly, taking appropriate action or escalating as needed
Collaborate with allied health professionals, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
Provide leadership and guidance to personal support workers and other care staff
Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff
What You’ll Bring
Current registration and in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Experience working in care, retirement, or healthcare (an asset)
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with residents, families, and colleagues
A passion for delivering person-centered care and enhancing the resident experience

Additional Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required
Physical ability to assist residents and perform tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
Preparedness to respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively
Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
