We Invite Applications For The Temporary Position Of 0.60 FTE Grades 10-12 Online Learning Languages Teacher
Please note this temporary position will end on June 30, 2027 or upon return of the incumbent.
First day of the assignment is August 31, 2026 with 5 days being banked to use later in the year.

NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School.
The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment
Oral, written and cultural fluency (mastery level) in contemporary languages
Experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of modern languages within an online learning environment at the secondary school level
Experience working with the delivery of modern languages through Rosetta Stone and Brightspace.
Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system
Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL)



assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators
Experience developing and implementing online learning platforms within the modern languages portfolio (Brightspace, Zoom, Teams) to enhance student learning
Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person
Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s
