We are a family-run construction and development company based in Burnaby and are looking for a reliable Bookkeeper /Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is a mix of bookkeeping and general administrative support, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small, collaborative office environment.
Role Description We are seeking a Bookkeeper for a part-time, on-site position at our office in Burnaby, BC. Hours/Schedule is flexible. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing journal entries, maintaining financial statements, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping. Additionally, this role involves working with accounting software to track financial transactions and support financial processes within the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense tracking and reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with month-end reporting
Create job cost reports
Maintain records and reconciliation of internal financial accounts and funding activities
Complete full-cycle bookkeeping
Support payroll preparation and benefits administration
Provide administrative support including document management, filing, and office coordination
Assist with invoicing, contractor documentation, and internal reporting
Support annual audits and tax preparation by providing accurate records
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and team members as needed




Maintain compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Assist with office administrative duties, such as:
Prepare and edit documents
Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external communications
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
Support daily office operations and special projects as needed
Qualifications Bookkeeping or accounting certification is required
CPA designation (or in progress) is considered an asset
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office/Excel
Knowledge of Accounting Software and general finance practices
Proficiency in Bookkeeping and accurately recording financial transactions
Experience in preparing Financial Statements and Journal Entries
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial information
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment
Previous experience in the real estate industry is an asset
