Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, support, and maintain enterprise-scale backend applications using .NET and C# technologies.

Support and modernize existing .NET applications while developing new enterprise solutions and capabilities.

Design and implement scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing application architectures.

Lead the development of logical and physical data models supporting complex business processes.

Design and optimize database structures, schemas, stored procedures, queries, indexing strategies, and integration patterns.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, web services, and integrations with internal and external systems.

Support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and troubleshooting.

Perform application and database performance tuning, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex technical issues.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, vendors, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development teams regarding architecture patterns, development standards, and best practices.

Participate in application modernization, platform refresh, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Take ownership of technical solutions from initial design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing production support.

Mandatory Requirements

Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise software solutions.

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Extensive enterprise application development experience using C# and .NET Framework, .NET Core, and/or ASP.NET.

Extensive experience building large-scale, complex,



and interdependent enterprise systems.

Solid experience with backend application development and enterprise system integration.

Demonstrated expertise in data architecture, logical and physical data modeling, database design, and database-driven application development.

Strong understanding of relational database concepts, normalization, indexing, database security, governance, and performance optimization.

Strong SQL development experience, including stored procedures, query development, query optimization, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.

Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, web services, and enterprise system integrations.

Extensive experience with N-tier and service-oriented application architectures.

Experience with UML, system design patterns, architectural design methodologies, and enterprise architecture principles.

Full SDLC experience, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.

Strong application troubleshooting, debugging, root cause analysis, and technical problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical and business information and apply sound technical judgment.

Experience working with third-party vendors and external partners.

Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and support to developers and technical teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within a broader technical team.

Adaptability and flexibility within a dynamic enterprise delivery environment.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with automated testing and quality assurance practices.

Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Experience supporting application modernization or platform refresh initiatives.

Experience working with highly integrated, enterprise-scale, business-critical applications.

Hybrid arrangement consisting of approximately 3 days per week onsite in Richmond, BC.
