About This Role
The Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and solutions to ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and security. This role supports both project-based initiatives and ongoing operations, providing technical expertise in cloud architecture, migrations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
The Cloud Solutions Engineer works closely with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions aligned with business and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement cloud infrastructure and solutions across Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
Configure and deploy cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security solutions
Support cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and new cloud deployments
Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architectures
Ensure cloud solutions align with security, performance, availability, and business requirements
Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, capacity, and operational health
Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, including escalations
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Maintain cloud service availability and reliability in line with operational expectations
Implement and maintain cloud security controls, including identity and access management, security policies, and network controls
Support vulnerability remediation, patch management, and security hardening initiatives
Ensure adherence to organizational security policies, cloud best practices, and industry standards
Maintain accurate cloud architecture documentation, configurations, and technical diagrams
Identify opportunities to improve cloud performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency
Contribute to cloud automation, process improvements, and standardization efforts
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure, application, security, and systems initiatives
Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders and clients
Communicate effectively on cloud architecture, technical issues, risks, and recommended solutions
Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and infrastructure
Experience with Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of cloud networking, compute, storage, identity, and security services
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and cloud identity and access management
Understanding of hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises infrastructure
Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices
Experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging, and diagnostic tools
Experience with cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code tools is considered an asset
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of infrastructure and systems administration principles
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and documentation skills
Education & Experience
Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3–5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or a similar role
Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud environments
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms
Experience supporting cloud migrations and hybrid infrastructure environments
Experience with cloud security and identity management
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent) are preferred
Compensation and Additional Perks
Competitive compensation: $100,000-$120,000 CAD based on experience and qualifications, plus eligibility for a Short Term Incentive Plan.
