Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX
As a Manager, Data Engineering at Arc'teryx, you'll lead a team responsible for our core data platform (including Databricks administration, ingestion frameworks, and QA frameworks) while ensuring technical excellence and delivery of data solutions. You'll guide your team's technical direction, develop engineering talent, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver robust, reliable data infrastructure. You'll balance hands‑on technical leadership with people management responsibilities, ensuring your team is well‑positioned to scale and support our data‑driven initiatives.

This position is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team
The data platform team builds and maintains the data infrastructure (including our Databricks environment, ingestion frameworks, and QA frameworks) that powers analytics, reporting, and data‑driven decision making across Arc'teryx's digital platforms, retail operations, and business units. We work with cross-functional agile squads to develop reliable data pipelines, improve data quality, build self‑serve analytics tools for our business stakeholders, and ensure timely access to accurate data for our analysts and data scientists.

Core Activities

Leading and developing a team of data engineers while maintaining technical involvement

Guiding technical decisions and architecture for your team's projects

Driving implementation of data engineering best practices and standards

Overseeing administration, scaling, and governance of our Databricks platform and the data pipelines built on it

Building and maintaining ingestion frameworks that onboard and standardize new data sources across the business

Collaborating with product managers and stakeholders to prioritize data initiatives

Managing team capacity, sprint planning, and delivery commitments

Coaching and mentoring data engineers in their technical and professional growthSupporting hiring and onboarding of new team members

Establishing and maintaining QA frameworks to ensure data quality and reliability standards are met

Driving adoption of new tools and technologies within your team





Managing performance and career development for direct reports

Building and scaling high‑performing data engineering teams to support organizational growth

Implementing structured career development frameworks for data engineering professionals

Leading the technical strategy for data platform modernization initiatives

Developing automated testing and CI/CD frameworks for data pipeline reliability

Establishing cross‑functional collaboration models between data and business teams

Standardizing data engineering practices across multiple development teams

Are you our next Manager, Data Engineering?

You have 8+ years of data engineering experience with 4+ years of team leadership

You have hands‑on experience managing data platform infrastructure, such as Databricks, ingestion frameworks, and QA frameworks

You have a combined strong technical background with emerging leadership capabilities

You have experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers

You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

You are passionate about building strong engineering teams

You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

Your passion for technical leadership is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it

Compensation
The salary range for this role is CAD$108,000 - CAD$142,000

Total Rewards
Most new team members join between the start and midpoint of the range, where you can contribute right away while continuing to grow your craft, your collaborations, and your impact at Arc’teryx. This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay isdeterminedby your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
