As directed by the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipper/Receiver is responsible for shipping, receiving, packing, unpacking, storing, and recording the movement of parts, materials, and equipment.

As directed by the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipper/Receiver is responsible for shipping, receiving, packing, unpacking, storing, and recording the movement of parts, materials, and equipment.

This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, organized, and timely flow of materials through the branch. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and provides strong customer service when coordinating with internal teams, customers, and carriers.

Duties

Determine the most productive and cost-effective method of shipment; arrange deliveries and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents

Assemble containers and crates, pack goods for shipment, and attach packing slips with accurate identifying information and shipping instructions

Direct delivery trucks to shipping doors or designated areas and assist with safe loading/unloading of goods

Inspect and count received goods, verify against invoices and documentation, record shortages, and report or reject damaged goods

Return damaged items and ensure they are routed correctly

Unpack and store goods in appropriate locations, maintaining a well-organized warehouse

Maintain accurate records and trace lost or delayed shipments as required

Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner





Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and processed efficiently to support strong customer service and operational flow

Prepare and process documents including bills of lading, packing slips, receiving documents, and picking tickets

Comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations

Conduct regular safety checks, maintain safe working conditions, and report hazards

Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment (training provided)

Use computer systems to generate shipping labels and maintain records

Follow all safety policies, including wearing appropriate PPE at all times

Maintain general housekeeping and organization of work areas

Perform other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Customer service mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, drivers, and internal teams

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to read and interpret order slips and shipping documents

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Physically capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 100 lbs)

Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems

Product knowledge is an asset

Education And Experience Required

1-2+ years' experience in shipping/receiving with a strong inventory control focus

Forklift experience an asset

Valid driver's license
