Support individuals in recovery as a Peer Support Specialist with SOAR Community Services in Brantford, ON. This full time position focuses on building connections and offering hope and encouragement to those facing substance use challenges.

In this essential role, you will utilize your lived experience to foster relationships with clients aged 16 and above dealing with substance use and concurrent mental health issues. Peer Support Specialists are a crucial part of the Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services program, helping clients navigate their recovery journey. You'll facilitate peer-led groups and collaborate with staff to enhance the support provided.

Key Responsibilities:
• Build supportive relationships with clients utilizing your recovery experience
• Offer connection and encouragement to individuals in recovery




• Share insights and coping strategies for hope and resilience
• Facilitate peer-led support groups for clients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to enhance peer programming

Requirements:
• Lived experience of substance use and/or mental health recovery
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Comfort facilitating peer-led discussions
• College diploma or certificate in any field
• Full G level driver's license
