Job Title: Conventional Machinist The conventional machinist joins a daytime team in a well-established manufacturing company, where a large portion of the role involves contributing to the design and fabrication of new parts. The person reads and interprets technical drawings, operates conventional lathes and mills, and helps maintain and improve existing equipment in a stable, unionized production environment.
Responsibilities Operate conventional lathes and milling machines to machine precision mechanical parts.
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to produce parts according to specifications.
Participate in the design and fabrication of new parts, representing approximately 70% of the role.
Perform maintenance, adjustments, or improvements on existing equipment as required for production.
Work in a manufacturing environment while following established procedures and quality standards.
Carry out manual machining and grinding operations when needed.
Use troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues with parts or equipment.
Collaborate with production and design teams to optimize parts and processes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
Essential Skills Proficiency in operating conventional lathes and milling machines.
Ability to read and interpret technical plans and blueprints.
Experience in mechanical machining, including manual machining and grinding.
Comfort working in a manufacturing and production environment.
Troubleshooting skills to solve technical problems on parts and equipment.
Autonomy, resourcefulness, and strong analytical thinking.
Genuine interest in problem-solving and tackling technical challenges.
Additional Skills and Qualifications Ability to contribute to the design of new parts and suggest improvements.
Strong teamwork skills and ease working in a unionized,



collaborative environment.
Rigorous approach to meeting quality standards and following work procedures.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail in machining tasks.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint-Eustache, QC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.92 - $37.69/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity,



and other pertinent job-related factors.
Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Saint-Eustache,QC.
