The West Central Women’s Resource Centre (WCWRC) is dedicated to supporting women and gender-diverse individuals facing adversity in Winnipeg's West Central neighbourhood. The Cultural Support Worker role emphasizes traditional Indigenous teachings and crisis intervention to enhance personal growth and cultural appreciation. Collaborate with community members and cultural leaders to implement programs that address the impacts of colonialism.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one cultural advising and crisis intervention
• Support access to traditional medicines and ceremonies
• Coordinate learning opportunities on Indigenous practices
• Facilitate group programming aligned with community needs
• Ensure effective program evaluation and reporting
Requirements:
• Robust understanding of traditional Indigenous culture
• Experience supporting individuals impacted by trauma
• Knowledge of anti-oppression and anti-racism approaches
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
