We are seeking Winter Equipment Operators for Public Works in Hants County. This spare position includes snowplowing and ice control with essential paid training and experience.

Candidates will receive two weeks of paid training, followed by 45 hours of guided plowing experience. This role requires operating heavy equipment like snowplows and graders while performing maintenance and inspections. Hours are variable based on operational needs, with potential participation in the Winter Wage Guarantee program for consistent work during winter months.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate snow removal equipment effectively and safely
• Conduct pre-and-post trip inspections on all equipment
• Maintain logs and complete daily inspection reports




• Perform road maintenance and traffic control duties
• Ensure high standards of customer service and safety

Requirements:
• Minimum two years of relevant experience or equivalent education
• Valid Class III license with air brake endorsement
• Reading and writing skills for documentation
• Previous experience with manual transmission trucks preferred
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems is a plus
