THE ROLE: Our client is seeking Production Operators to join their innovative manufacturing and advanced recycling facility in Burnaby, BC. This is a full-time temporary opportunity with potential for extension and permanent employment. The successful candidates will support day-to-day plant operations while assisting with mechanical equipment decommissioning, equipment installation, facility maintenance, material handling, quality control, and general warehouse activities. This is a hands‑on position suited to someone with a strong mechanical background who is comfortable working around industrial equipment, performing physical labour, following safety procedures, and working alongside mechanical and electrical engineering teams in Burnaby, BC. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in mechanical equipment maintenance or assembly, preferably within a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment.

Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Full‑time temporary position
Contract expected to run from late August/early September through approximately mid‑September

Weekly Pay (Friday's)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as part of a team to operate, maintain, and improve plant operations
Disassemble and decommission mechanical equipment safely
Assist with cleaning and organizing warehouse and plant areas
Support contract electrical and mechanical engineers with the assembly and installation of new equipment
Assist with positioning, assembling, and preparing equipment for installation
Clean and prepare machinery using appropriate chemical handling procedures
Work with valves, piping, and various mechanical components under engineering direction
Assist with general facility and equipment maintenance
Inspect products and materials to ensure they meet required quality standards
Support shipping and receiving activities
Load, unload, move, and organize materials as required
Perform general warehouse and material handling duties
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Properly handle chemicals and industrial equipment according to established procedures
Complete other production, maintenance, warehouse, or facility duties as assigned
Communicate equipment, quality, safety, or production concerns to the appropriate supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
Must successfully pass a clear criminal record check prior to starting
Previous experience with mechanical equipment maintenance, assembly, or industrial equipment
Previous experience working in a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred
Previous forklift (counterbalance) operating experience is required
Required PPE and adherence to chemical and industrial safety procedures
Valid forklift certification/license is highly preferred
Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Technician, Millwright, or similar background is an asset
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on skills
Comfortable working with valves, piping, mechanical components, and industrial equipment
Ability to perform physical labour throughout the workday
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail
Time management skills
Strong willingness to learn
Safety‑focused with the ability to follow detailed procedures
Reliable attendance and punctuality
