About Us Ohata Resource Canada Inc. is an electronics recycling and e-scrap company based in Richmond, British Columbia. Our group has nearly 30 years of industry experience in Japan and continues to expand its operations in North America.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Yard Operations Supervisor to support the daily operation of our Richmond yard and develop toward a future yard management position.
This is a hands‑on role involving e‑scrap purchasing, sales support, customer service, inventory management, warehouse work, and local transportation. The ideal candidate is responsible, organized, comfortable working with customers and recyclable materials, and interested in taking on increasing operational responsibility.
Key Responsibilities E‑Scrap Purchasing & Customer Service Assist with purchasing electronic scrap and recyclable materials from customers and vendors.
Greet customers and provide professional service at the Richmond yard.
Inspect, identify, sort, and weigh incoming e‑scrap materials.
Confirm material categories and purchasing information according to company procedures.
Communicate with customers regarding accepted materials, purchasing conditions, and transaction details.
Maintain accurate customer, purchasing, and transaction records.
Support the sale and shipment of e‑scrap materials.
Coordinate incoming and outgoing materials with warehouse and management staff.
Prepare and organize basic purchasing, receiving, sales, and shipping information.
Enter transactions and inventory movements accurately into the company’s inventory system.
Assist with inventory counts and basic inventory reconciliation.




Warehouse & Yard Operations Perform general warehouse duties, including sorting, moving, organizing, weighing, and preparing materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse environment.
Follow company procedures for material handling, equipment use, and workplace safety.
Report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, and operational issues to management.
Driving Responsibilities Operate a company pickup truck when required.
Hold and maintain a valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence.
Follow all company vehicle and road‑safety procedures.
Management Development Learn the major areas of the Richmond yard’s daily operations.
Support the coordination of daily warehouse and yard activities.
Help maintain consistent purchasing, inventory, customer-service, and safety procedures.
Communicate operational updates and issues to management.
Develop the skills and experience required to take on greater responsibility for the yard’s daily operation.
Qualifications Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence.
Solid communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
Comfortable communicating with customers, vendors, and team members.
Comfortable working in a warehouse and yard environment.
Ability to safely lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lb, with reasonable accommodation where required.
Basic computer and data‑entry skills.




Ability to learn and use the company’s inventory management system.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Employer sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations, recycling, logistics, purchasing, sales, inventory management, or team supervision.
Previous leadership or management experience is an asset.
Experience or interest in electronics recycling and e‑scrap is an asset.
Japanese or Chinese language skills are an asset.
Experience working in a multilingual or international business environment is an asset.
Schedule 40 hours per week
8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., including a one-hour unpaid break
Regular workdays are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and either Saturday or Sunday
Weekend availability is required
Regular overtime is not expected
CAD 25.00–28.00 per hour
Three-month probationary period at CAD $25.00 per hour
Compensation will be reviewed upon successful completion of the probationary period based on performance and discussion
