Drive excellence in fire safety as a Deputy Chief with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. This full time position is centered around public safety and community service.

In the Deputy Chief role, you will lead the Fire Prevention and Fleet Services branches within the Regional Emergency Services Department. Your responsibility includes developing innovative solutions to enhance public safety and compliance with fire-related legislation. You will play a crucial part in maintaining stakeholder trust and establishing strategic priorities for the department.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead effective fire prevention program implementation
• Promote relationships with community stakeholders




• Ensure compliance with OH&S; and legislative standards
• Develop and manage departmental budgets
• Conduct performance appraisals for team members

Requirements:
• Ten years of emergency service experience required
• Experience with rural and Indigenous communities preferred
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
• Criminal Record Check submission required
