We are looking for a Civil Litigation Counsel at Definity, managing insurance claims cases in a hybrid work setting. Strong negotiation and litigation skills are essential.

In this role, you will independently manage your own portfolio of complex civil and insurance litigation matters. Your responsibilities will include developing litigation strategies, attending legal proceedings, and advising the Claims department on best practices. Your experience will contribute to our commitment to effective legal solutions across various claims areas.

Key Responsibilities:
• Independently handle litigation files from assignment to resolution
• Represent in court proceedings and mediations
• Prepare and analyze legal documents and evidence
• Negotiate settlements and offer strategic advice
• Collaborate with stakeholders and external experts

Requirements:
• Law degree and Alberta licensure
• Two+ years in civil litigation, preferably insurance
• High-level analytical and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with appeals and complex claims
