Lead the Occupational Health and Safety initiatives at Humber Polytechnic as a dedicated specialist. This full-time role is essential for maintaining a safe hybrid working setting.
You will be part of the People(s) and Culture/OHS team, charged with developing and executing effective health and safety programs. Engage in risk analysis, workplace injury assessments, and safety compliance activities to fortify Humber’s reputation for educational excellence. Your work will promote safety and support the well-being of faculty and students alike.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Humber’s Occupational Health and Safety procedures
• Conduct thorough hazard assessments and incident investigations
• Manage emergency preparedness and waste control procedures
• Oversee WSIB claims and facilitate workplace reintegration
• Communicate regularly with external regulatory agencies
Requirements:
• Degree in occupational health or safety-related field
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the safety sector
• Strong knowledge of relevant health regulations
• Safety certifications (e.g., ROH, CRSP) are an asset
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
