Project Management is a unique service within Health Shared Services Capital Management where skilled teams are responsible for the planning, design and construction of Capital and Operating building infrastructure projects at all healthcare sites within defined Zones. The Coordinator II - Project Management position reports to the Director, Program Manager and/or Senior Project Manager as applicable and is responsible to support their assigned Project Teams in the delivery and implementation of these projects through the project life cycle, including project initiation, planning & design, execution, close-out, monitoring and control. The Project Management Coordinator is the liaison between the stakeholders, consultants, and the construction team and advises the project stakeholders of construction activities and the construction team of stakeholder concerns. Excellent communication skills are critical to balancing stakeholder’s needs within project constraints. Working under the leadership a senior team member, the Project Management Coordinator’s duties will include, but are not limited to, scoping activities, the development of project schedules, oversight of construction activities, building and operational commissioning, coordination of equipment installation and preliminary reviews and recommendations for approval of the project expenditures. This position will also coordinate service shut-downs, ensure that the constructors are adhering to facility guidelines and participate in value engineering exercises while contributing towards achieving the goals of successful scope, budget, schedule, quality and other performance standards to the client’s and the organization’s satisfaction within a safe working environment. Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Journeyman Trade Certificate and/or Diploma in related architecture, building or engineering technology program. Minimum of 5 years of related commercial/institutional construction project management experience with preference for hospital or healthcare facility construction and/or healthcare facility management experience. Must be proficient with standard office desktop software.
Preferred Qualifications:
5-7 years of related project management experience with preference in hospital or healthcare facility construction and/or healthcare facility management experience preferred. Computer assisted Project Management scheduling, theories, principles, practices and processes; as well as accounting and financial reporting systems and process knowledge would be an asset.
