As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program.Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of up to one-year hands-on experience working at all workstations in the Medical Device Reprocessing Area of a Hospital. Must be able to comprehend, speak, read and write English fluently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as constant and open communication (person-to-person, Vocera, phone)



is required at all times by all staff working in MDRD to ensure that issues/potential issues are addressed in a timely manner and instrumentation is reprocessed on time to support safe, patient care. Proficient in SPM, Microsoft Office Suite, ESP. Requires manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks using fine motor skills; must be in positive health without limitation affecting standing and walking; must be able to lift 10 kilograms (22lbs) and push/pull carts weighing up to 114 kilograms (250 lbs) as required. Strong attention to detail, exercises considerable judgement and demonstrates excellent decision-making skills, along with exceptional problem-solving skills. Under the direction of the Leadership Team, works well independently and as part of a team. Strong ability to work under pressure, in stressful, fast-paced situations, handle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and able to adapt to changing needs throughout the day, without compromising quality and patient care. Adheres to established policies and procedures.
