Join the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry as a Postdoctoral Research Associate focusing on defect engineering in battery materials. This two-year position offers a unique prospect to innovate in lithium and sodium-ion technologies.
Reporting to Prof. Dame Clare P. Grey, you will design synthetic cathode materials and explore defects' electrochemical impacts. Experience in battery assembly, as well as proficiency in electrochemical measurements, is critical to success in this role. You will also apply advanced characterisation and in situ methods to analyzer materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Synthesize and design cathode materials for lithium-ion systems
• Investigate electrochemical performance through robust testing
• Use characterization methods like X-ray and muon spectroscopy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams
• Develop in situ experimental techniques for material studies
Requirements:
• PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
• Track record of publications in battery research
• Experience with advanced characterization techniques
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate findings
• Self-motivated with strong independent research skills
