The Opportunity
We are seeking a Development Planner with 2+ years of experience in urban planning, real estate development, or a related field. The ideal candidate brings analytical strength, clear writing, and an eagerness to contribute to multidisciplinary projects. You’ll help evaluate development opportunities, undertake real estate market and feasibility analysis, formulate land use and development strategies, and work with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver strategies that guide investment and shape communities.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing municipal and regional planning and economic development policies.

Conducting real estate and economic market research.

Evaluating development opportunities and site potential from a planning, market, and real estate perspective.

Contributing to land use concepts, development programs, and development strategies.

Assessing development feasibility, including density, land use mix, phasing, and financial considerations.

Contributing to development feasibility and financial analysis, including development programs and pro forma inputs.

Preparing strategic recommendations and implementation tools.





Summarizing findings into visual presentations and consulting reports.

Engaging stakeholders and participating in public consultation.

Conducting site visits and fieldwork as needed throughout assignments.

Supporting project management tasks and internal collaboration.

Assisting in proposal development and marketing collateral.

Attending client meetings, workshops, and industry conferences.

What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum 2 years of experience in urban planning, real estate development, or urban economics.

A degree in urban planning, real estate, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Familiarity with land use planning concepts and development metrics (e.g., lease rates, absorption, cap rates).

Excellent research and writing skills, with attention to detail.

Strong time management, organization, and independent work skills.

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including consultants and engineers.

Project management experience is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Microsoft Teams and SharePoint

QGIS (preferred)
