About the Opportunity Reporting to the Program Manager of the Medical-Surgical and Heart Health department within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio the Physiotherapist is a member of a clinical team and collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and pain management. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.
About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Masters's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
Current BCLS certification
Thorough knowledge of Physiotherapy practice, with an interest in program development and evaluation skills
Effective teaching and patient education skills
Demonstrated accountability
Effective promotion of patient self-management skills
Solid client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships
Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
Demonstrated leadership abilities
Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Approximately 8 months
Compensation and Benefits $38.43 - $50.99 hourly
