This role is designed for an experienced professional who will lead Indigenous engagement and facilitate meaningful participation within the university community. You will focus on developing and implementing initiatives, managing academic support services, and enhancing student recruitment efforts. Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders will be crucial in promoting relationships crucial for Indigenous legal education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop community relations enhancing Indigenous legal education
• Lead culturally sensitive initiatives to support Indigenous students
• Coordinate recruitment and retention strategies for Indigenous candidates
• Plan and execute major events to promote Indigenous awareness
• Prepare and manage budgets related to Indigenous programs
Requirements:
• University degree; JD or relevant advanced degree preferred
• At least five years of related qualified experience
• Strong understanding of Indigenous culture and educational needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual; additional Indigenous language knowledge is an asset
