Shape the future of Waikato-Tainui as the Te Akura Lead, enhancing iwi capability and cultural resilience. This full-time, on-site role focuses on implementing impactful programs in the Greater Hamilton Area.
As a pivotal leader at Waikato-Tainui, you will drive Te Akura initiatives planning, coordinating with marae, tribal members, and teams. Your expertise in project leadership will help design and oversee programs across community, education, and environmental sustainability. You'll engage stakeholders in wānanga and workshops, ensuring that all initiatives align with iwi values and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and oversee Te Akura programs for iwi capability
• Coordinate with marae and internal teams for project delivery
• Facilitate hui, workshops, and stakeholder engagement
• Manage reporting and evaluation of initiatives
• Support development and wellbeing of kaimahi internal to Te Akura
Requirements:
• Experience in programme/project leadership and evaluation
• Solid relationship management with iwi and community groups
• Proven facilitation and presentation skills
• Solid understanding of Waikato-Tainui kaupapa and tikanga
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Māori development or related field
