Overview of Position:
The Engineering Manager is responsible to lead and manage the technical aspects of the organization through new system implementation, process improvements and standardization which will result in increased organizational efficiency, accurate product and process data, improved product quality and employee and customer satisfaction
Responsibilities:
Work with cross functional teams including Sales, IT, Manufacturing, Quality, etc. to evaluate review and improve Patriot’s current productions processes
Reduce and eliminate internal redundancies throughout Patriot’s production processes
Spearhead organizational alignment between all Patriot divisions in terms of processing standards from sales to shipping
Manage all technical activities related to preparing a complete and accurate shop order package
Develop and implement department plans and objectives aligned with company goals
Identify and manage the current and future needs, trends, opportunities and challenges of the company, as related to the technical scope, while ensuring performance improvements to proactively address the needs
Develop,
manage and maintain standards for material definitions, customer specifications and processing standards
Establish and maintain open and constructive relationship with Sales, Materials and Manufacturing by continuing to solicit and consider their feedback for process improvements
Provide support to the improvement and accuracy of the estimating and quoting rules systems
Provide technical support for other departments, including NCR’s and CAR’s, liaison for process and metallurgical issues as well as with universities and technical organizations
Manage department personnel through development, training and conducting performance reviews
Ensure departmental staffing levels support the business levels
Manage the default system including determining approaches to automation, part specific defaults, advanced notes, etc.
Comply with H&S; management program and policies
Experience:
5 years’ experience in manufacturing and metallurgy
University degree (Engineering or Metallurgy would be an asset)
Experience managing Professionals working in cross-functional teams
Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to assume a leadership / mentoring role.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Computer literate and familiar with contemporary software
