Our client is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join a major Insurance Modernization initiative. The successful candidate will play a key role in the transformation of the organization's new-business and underwriting capabilities, working across business, technology, architecture, development teams and third-party implementation partners.

This is a highly technical BSA role requiring a combination of life insurance domain expertise, business analysis, systems thinking and hands-on integration/API experience .

The successful candidate will help translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications that enable development teams to build and integrate new capabilities across the organization's insurance technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with business BAs, insurance SMEs, architects, developers and third-party vendors to understand business objectives and translate them into detailed technical requirements.

Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation for complex insurance modernization initiatives.

Develop detailed functional and technical specifications for system integrations, APIs, data exchanges and business processes.

Analyze end-to-end data flows between insurance platforms and supporting enterprise systems.

Ensure requirements capture not only the data being exchanged, but the business purpose, rules and outcomes associated with the integration.

Identify gaps, dependencies and missing data requirements before development begins.

Collaborate closely with solution architects while providing the detailed requirements needed to support solution development.

Work with third-party implementation partners to define, review and validate integration requirements.

Support integration requirements across new and existing insurance platforms, including policy administration, underwriting, advisor portals, contracting, workflow, document management and eDelivery solutions.

Participate in requirements walkthroughs, design reviews and stakeholder discussions.

Help establish and maintain requirements schedules and delivery plans across multiple integration workstreams.

Support modernization and migration activities involving legacy insurance platforms and new Sapiens capabilities.

Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on knowledge sharing and high‑quality delivery.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or similar role.

Strong experience working within the Life Insurance industry.

Direct experience with new business, policy acquisition and/or underwriting processes.

Strong understanding of insurance technology and policy administration environments.

Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting complex business and technical requirements.

Robust experience with systems integration and APIs .

Experience analyzing data flows and defining detailed integration requirements and data mappings.

Strong systems‑thinking and problem‑solving capabilities.

Ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into practical technology requirements.

Experience working with vendors, implementation partners and cross‑functional technology teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Post‑secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Sapiens insurance platforms or implementations.





Experience with Ingenium or other insurance policy administration platforms.

Experience supporting a life insurance platform modernization or transformation.

Experience with migrations from legacy policy administration platforms to modern insurance platforms.

Experience with insurance underwriting systems and new‑business technology.

Experience with reinsurance, policy conversions or migration initiatives.

You don't need to be an architect, but you need enough technical depth to understand how enterprise insurance systems interact and to recognize when an integration requirement is incomplete or missing critical information.

Experience with Sapiens and/or Ingenium is highly desirable , but strong candidates with the right Life Insurance, policy administration and integration background will also be considered.
