SLB is seeking a motivated and safety-focused individual to join our Nisku, AB team as a Maintenance Assistant . In this role, you will support materials management activities, including shipping and receiving, while assisting with foundational maintenance processes for drill bit operations. You will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, processing drill bits through various maintenance stages, and maintaining accurate digital records.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, has strong attention to detail, and works well as part of a team. This role provides the prospect to develop technical and operational skills while gaining exposure to equipment maintenance, warehouse operations, and materials management within a global technology company.
Roles And Responsibilities
Support shipping and receiving activities, including preparing shipments, receiving incoming materials, and completing required documentation.
Load and unload carriers and assist with material movement using equipment such as forklifts and other approved lifting devices.
Process dull drill bits by unpackaging equipment, removing nozzles, and conducting initial condition evaluations.
Wash, clean, and prepare drill bits for inspection using automated parts washers and sandblasting equipment.
Capture and maintain digital records by operating mobile applications to scan, photograph, and document drill bits.
Organize and store drill bits and related equipment within designated shop locations and racking systems.
Maintain a clean, organized,
and safe work environment in accordance with SLB quality and HSE standards.
Collaborate with maintenance, warehouse, and operations teams to support day-to-day business requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping and receiving, manufacturing, maintenance support, or other industrial environments is considered an asset.
General computer proficiency is required; experience with SAP is considered a strong asset.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance are considered assets.
Ability to safely perform material handling activities and obtain training certifications for forklift and overhead crane operation.
Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
