Make a difference in the community as a Full time Outreach Worker for Regent Park Community Health Centre. Support individuals facing homelessness and mental health issues in the downtown east of Toronto.
As part of the HART Hub Team, you will provide essential outreach services to vulnerable populations in the community. This role requires building trust and connecting individuals to vital resources such as housing and healthcare. You will employ harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches to promote recovery and support healthy choices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build rapport with individuals in public areas and shelters
• Offer non-judgmental support to those seeking help
• Assess immediate needs for food and shelter assistance
• Respond to crises with de-escalation techniques
• Foster partnerships to enhance access to resources
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in a related field or relevant experience
• Commitment to harm reduction and advocacy principles
• Strong communication skills and conflict management experience
• Knowledge of Regent Park and local community issues
• Ability to work with diverse populations and backgrounds
