Are you a Tax Manager with cross-border experience who's ready to shift toward a more Canadian-focused, advisory-driven practice? I'm working with a well-established, independent investment firm, a true BC institution with over 100 years in the industry, to find their next Tax and Estate Planner.
This isn't a compliance role. My client is looking for someone who wants to move away from return preparation and into high-value advisory work: sitting with clients and Investment Advisors, building strategy, and translating complex tax and estate concepts into real financial outcomes. If your background has you fluent in more than just corporate returns (say Private Wealth)and you're looking for a role that puts that broader expertise to work in a domestic planning context, this could be a strong next step.
My client is team-owned, award-winning, and known for a culture of genuine collaboration and long-term client relationships. They're looking to add a sharp, client-focused Tax and Estate Planner to their Financial Planning team.
What You'll Do Partner with clients and Investment Advisors on tax, estate, and personal finance strategies
Prepare and present sophisticated financial projections using industry-leading software
Identify tax minimization opportunities and translate complex rules — personal, corporate, trust income tax, registered/non-registered accounts, pensions,

government perks — into clear, actionable guidance
Write tax and personal finance articles/bulletins that keep clients ahead of the curve
Contribute to internal seminars and external presentations
What My Client Is Looking For CPA designation + 5 years post-designation tax experience, ideally with exposure beyond standard corporate compliance
CFP designation preferred (or willingness to obtain within 2 years)
Currently enrolled in, partway through, or having completed the CPA In-Depth tax program is a strong asset
TEP and/or FEA designations are a bonus
Sharp analytical instincts, superior communication skills, and a genuine passion for client-facing advisory work
A collaborative, self-motivated mindset — someone who thrives as part of a high-performance team
The Details This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, requiring a minimum of four days per week onsite.
Why Consider This Opportunity Join a firm with over a century of independence and stability
Move out of compliance and into advisory, planning-focused work
Access real mentorship and professional development
Be part of a team that values contribution over ego
Advance your career specializing in tax advisory for high-net-worth individuals
Enjoy true work-life balance with a 35-hour work week
