Front of House Team Member – Part Time – Evening Position Title: Front End Team Member Reports To: Front End Lead Location: 1364 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB Compensation: Based on experience and internal pay structure; confirmed in the Letter of Offer
Shelly’s Indigenous Bistro is an Indigenous-owned and operated restaurant offering takeout, delivery, catering, and community-based food services. Position Summary
The Front End Team Member delivers professional and efficient front-of-house service for takeout, delivery, catering support, and customer pickup operations. This role ensures accurate order management, positive customer interaction, clean and organized front-of-house areas, and a consistent customer experience while reflecting the values and cultural respect of Shelly’s Indigenous Bistro.
Core Responsibilities
Greet guests in a warm, professional, and culturally respectful manner
Manage order flow, customer pickup, and customer inquiries
Take orders accurately in person, by phone, or via app
Communicate orders clearly to kitchen staff
Prepare, verify, and hand off food and beverage orders promptly and accurately
Package and distribute takeout and delivery orders
Operate the POS system and process cash, debit, and credit transactions
Assist with daily cash-out procedures as assigned
Maintain clean and organized customer pickup and order hand-off areas
Maintain cleanliness of the front counter, beverage stations, customer pickup areas, and guest-access areas
Restock front-of-house supplies, including napkins, condiments, cutlery, and cups
Address customer concerns professionally and escalated to the Front End Lead or General Manager when required
Maintain confidentiality of business and customer information
Follow all workplace, food safety, and service standards
Support teamwork and assist other departments when operationally required
Qualifications & Experience
Previous customer service or restaurant experience is an asset
Experience handling cash and POS systems is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Qualified demeanor and positive attitude
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Training & Certification Requirements
Manitoba Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain it, is considered an asset
WHMIS Certification is considered an asset but is not required
Knowledge of Manitoba food safety regulations is an asset
Serving It Safe certification is considered an asset
On-the-job service and operational training will be provided

Employment Requirements & Working Conditions
This position may be full-time or part-time based on operational needs. Work schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
A three-month probationary period applies. Performance, reliability, customer service standards, and teamwork will be reviewed during this period.

Compliance with company policies and procedures
The role requires extended standing and walking, frequent customer interaction, light lifting up to 25 lbs, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented service environment.
