How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of all plant equipment, including high-pressure gas compressors, cryogenic liquid pumps, cylinder filling manifolds, vacuum systems, and automated tracking infrastructure. This role ensures that all machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Health Canada regulations (for medical gases), and local safety standards. The Lead will direct maintenance technicians, manage the preventative maintenance program, and spearhead troubleshooting efforts to minimize plant downtime, manage contractors and vendors

Safety & Regulatory Compliance

GMP & Medical Gas Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities on medical gas systems comply with Health Canada and Positive Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations.

Calibration & Testing: Ensure all gauges, scales, and analytical testing equipment are calibrated and functioning properly, maintaining compliance records within the ERP system/DIMO/CMMS system.

Safety Standards: Strictly enforce safety protocols, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and handling protocols for hazardous/high-pressure materials, work permits preparation. Authorize safe work permit, inclusive of hot work and LOTO.

Comply with all 12 Life Saving Rules.

Ensure proper maintenance of EIS (Element Important for Safety) and proper documentation

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Preventative Maintenance (PM): Implement, and oversee strict PM schedules for high-pressure compressors, cryogenic pumps, valves, piping, and filling manifolds using the company's ERP/CMMS/DIMO software - maintenance planning. Perform corrective maintenance tasks as required inclusive of O2 cleaning on required equipment, parts, etc.

Work Order Management: Utilize the ERP system to generate, assign, track, and close out maintenance work orders, ensuring accurate logging of labor hours, parts used, and equipment history.





Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic malfunctions on critical plant equipment.

Emergency Response: Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency equipment failures, leading the quick and safe restoration of operations and documenting incident resolutions in the ERP.

Facility, Infrastructure & Mobile Equipment

Mobile Equipment & Forklifts: Oversee daily operational safety checks, schedule preventative maintenance, and manage the prompt repair of all plant forklifts and material handling equipment.

Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot facility access points and physical assets, including automated entrance gates, perimeter security, and all warehouse overhead doors.

Environmental & Dust Control: Oversee and maintain plant HVAC, general ventilation, and dust management systems to ensure proper air quality, safe environmental conditions, and regulatory compliance.

Lighting Systems: Ensure optimal visibility and safety by managing routine interior and exterior plant lighting maintenance and electrical fixture replacements.

Plant Cleanliness (Housekeeping/5S): Champion strict plant cleanliness and structural organization. Ensure maintenance work areas, production floors, and facility grounds remain free of debris, hazards, and clutter.

Maintain air/argon, oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen bulk tanks, air and water utilities, electrical (24V only), instrumentation systems inspection and repair, calibration of equipment for gas and liquid filling

Inventory, Procurement & Administration

ERP Inventory Control:



Manage inventory levels for critical spare parts (e.g., specialized O-rings, Teflon seals, pressure relief valves, forklift spares) through the ERP system to prevent operational delays -. Maintain inventory of parts and re-order when required. report to Finance monthly

Procurement: Create purchase requisitions and track orders for replacement parts, tools, and contractor services within the ERP, adhering to departmental budgets.

Contractor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and specialized contractors for complex repairs (e.g., overhead door specialists, gate technicians electricals vendors, safety & security vendors HVAC etc), ensuring they adhere to plant safety rules. Coordinate contractors and follow work until work permit is complete

Are you a MATCH?

Industrial Mechanic / Millwright; Red Seal preferred

Those with 4th class power engineering, Refrigeration , Gas Fitter and/or Welder certificate are preferred.

Knowledge of cryogenic equipment, including single cylinder displacement

pumps would be considered an asset

Strong troubleshooting capabilities

Confined space entry, work at height, First-Aid, safe work/hot work permit,

lockout-tag out (LOTO) and forklift training would be considered as an asset

Must be able to work nights, weekends for emergency call-out purposes
