We are seeking a talented, detail-oriented Design Studio Fabricator to join our small team. This is a hands-on, labour-intensive position mostly working with metals and with stone to transforming them by using simple tools and fabrication techniques.

You should be comfortable using hand tools and simple power tools to perform cutting, drilling, sanding and polishing, bending, tapping, patinating, assembling etc , in order to transform raw materials into high-quality finished pieces.

At the minimum, we are looking for someone who can be an excellent shop fabricator and problem solver with a keen eye for detail. A formal background in fabrication is not necessarily required. Practical ability, curiosity, belief in craftsmanship and the ability to figure things out is also very important.

The primary responsibility is for fabrication, but if you have additional skills and knowledge there may be occasional instances where they could be applied:

- Digital design and drawing skills using Adobe Creative Suite and CAD
- Experience in 3D printing or parts machining
- Brazing, welding and other metalworking techniques
- Electrical and mechanical design, fabrication and repair
- Designing and building jigs, fixtures and shop tools to improve fabrication processes
- Electrical wiring and troubleshooting
- LED technology and lighting

About the role:

Because we are a small studio, this position offers the opportunity to be involved in many different aspects of the design and fabrication process. The work can range from straightforward production to customized prototypes to solving fabrication challenges that have never been encountered before.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
