If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), who thrives on giving patient and family-centered care within an interdisciplinary healthcare team this position will appeal to you. As a member of the casual relief team, you will work shifts in Mackenzie Place Continuing Care Home Type B units, and the Enhanced Care Unit (ECU)). The Type B units provide clients with a home where they can enjoy privacy and independence with the comfort of knowing their health and personal care supports are on-site when needed. The ECU is a dynamic workplace that is designed to meet the needs of individuals who present with a combination of dementia syndrome and complex behavioral issues. Residents may exhibit challenging, unpredictable responsive behaviors which require enhanced staffing expertise to provide care and oversight. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000.



This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
