Kurliand Speech Clinic is growing, and we're looking for a caring and motivated Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) / Speech Therapy Assistant to join our team!
Kurliand Speech Clinic is a growing, clinician-led speech therapy practice serving children, teens, and adults across Vaughan and the GTA.
We are looking for a CDA who wants to provide meaningful, individualized speech and language therapy while working closely with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs).
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for part time or casual work, with the flexibility to build a schedule that fits their availability and interests.
About the Role
As a CDA / Speech Therapy Assistant, you will provide direct speech and language therapy under the direction and supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist.
You will work closely with clients and families to implement individualized treatment plans, collect data, monitor progress, and help clients work toward their communication goals.
Depending on your caseload and preferences, sessions may take place in the client's home, at school/daycare, in a clinic setting, or virtually.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide individualized speech and language therapy under the direction and supervision of an SLP
- Implement treatment plans developed by supervising SLPs
- Collect data and monitor client progress
- Build positive and trusting relationships with clients and their families
- Communicate regularly with supervising SLPs regarding client progress and clinical needs
- Prepare and deliver engaging, individualized therapy activities
- Complete session documentation and maintain accurate client records
- Participate in clinical discussions, supervision, and professional development
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals when appropriate

- Articulation and phonological disorders
- Expressive and receptive language
- Early language development
- Social communication
- Fluency and stuttering
- Autism and neurodevelopmental differences
- Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
- Cognitive-communication
- Other speech and language needs

What We're Looking For
- Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) diploma/certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, reliable, and professional
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with an SLP
- A genuine interest in working with children and families
- Ability to implement individualized treatment plans accurately
- Commitment to providing compassionate, client-centred care
Experience That Is an Asset
- Previous experience working as a CDA or Speech Therapy Assistant
- Experience providing pediatric speech and language therapy
- Experience with articulation and phonological disorders
- Experience with language delays
- Experience working with autistic children or other neurodivergent populations
- Experience with fluency/stuttering
- Experience working in homes, schools, daycare, or clinic settings
Compensation
$70–$90 per clinical hour, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Part-time / Casual
Flexible weekday and/or evening availability.
We are happy to discuss a schedule that fits your availability and preferred number of hours.
Location
Vaughan and surrounding GTA
Sessions may take place in clients' homes, schools/daycares, our clinic setting, and/or virtually, depending on the position and caseload.
Requirements
- CDA qualification or similar experience
- Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Professional liability insurance, where applicable
- Reliable transportation if providing in-home/community-based services
- Ability to work within the scope of practice and under the direction of a supervising SLP
