Shifts: 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., based on operational requirements
About the Position
We are seeking experienced Cooks to join the culinary team at a private school in Summerland, BC. This is a temporary opportunity supporting a new culinary operation while the permanent team is being established.
The operation serves approximately 45 guests for breakfast, 140 for lunch, and 45 for dinner.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Chef Manager and contribute to the preparation and service of meals in a professional, high-volume kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and food quality standards.
- Perform batch cooking for large-volume meal service.
- Assist with breakfast, lunch, and dinner preparation and service.
- Support buffet setup and service.
- Follow direction from the Chef Manager and work collaboratively with the culinary team.
- Maintain a clean, organized,
and protected kitchen and food preparation area.
- Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as required by the Chef Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Cook in a professional kitchen environment.
- Experience with batch cooking and high-volume food preparation is an asset.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a robust work ethic.
- Ability to follow direction and established procedures.
- Food Safe certification is an asset.
Additional Information
This is a temporary assignment beginning September 2, 2026, with the potential for scheduling adjustments based on operational needs.
